Welcome to my website!

Historically, felt is considered to be one of the oldest textile forms. Felt making, a very primitive process requires no specialty tools. It was and still is the perfect method for the nomads of Central Asia to produce their felted tents, blankets, rugs, boots and bags.

Raw wool roving is layed in thin layers and then with hot water and olive oil soap tumbling and kneading until the fibers combine to form a closed tissue. This would make an all wool felted piece.

With a thin layer of wool roving and silk habotai, silk gauze, hand dyed silk and other natural materials may also be combined to make a comfortable and very attractive piece of wearable art. This technique is called nuno felting. The end result is light and airy which has a nice drape plus keeps you warm.

Always exploring and experimenting I find inspiration from my visual world which moves me to put ideas into action through fiber art. I’ve been designing and sewing clothes my whole life and most recently discovered felting as my latest medium. Felting has brought a whole new spectrum to my creative process. To me, felting is a kind of magical therapy, an active meditation. I’ve found it especially challenging to work with felt clothing without using any seams. Its simplicity and originality continues to fascinate me.

From handbags, vests, scarves, jackets, jewelry, artistic objects and other accessories a person acquires an ID original™ because they know it’s a one-of-a-kind work of wearable art.
